There will be staff at St Ives lifeboat station who are ticket sellers but the main desk is located over the far side of St Ives harbour (opposite the Sloop Inn Pub). Once you arrive, we all put on a life jacket and walk over to the departure point.

You should not get wet! However, there may be some light spray. Please wear appropriate clothing. (Jacket etc.)

Q: What happens if it is too rough/raining?

If conditions are deemed too dangerous to operate or it is raining persistently then the skipper will make the decision to cancel the Seafari. We try to give the customer as much notice as possible, if the forecast is very poor this decision will often be made the day prior to the trip. However, weather conditions can change rapidly and sometimes last minute decisions are essential. Please provide an up-to-date contact number should we need to contact you.

Q: Are there toilet facilities on the boat?

There are NO toilets on either Blue Thunder or Blue Lightning.

Q: Is there any age restrictions on Blue Thunder Rib's Boat Trips?

Minimum age of 3. Of course, anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult. It's more about the size, and as long as you can sit safely on the seat and hold on you should be fine - old or young.

Q: Can I ride if I have a Back or Neck issue ?

The short answer is NO. We do not recommend that you ride if you suffer from a back, neck or serious injury, and we will be asking you to sign a waiver to that effect. We are trained in very basic first aid only and the first aid onboard is limited. Please KNOW we are not medical experts. We also reserve the right to disallow customers if necessary.

Q: What is the environmental impact of high-speed boat trips?

Our high speed boat rides are totally safe! We are regulated by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Mecal boat surveyors to ensure seaworthy boats and qualified crew.
